Dina DeSanctis, M.S. MFT, is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over seven years experience in private practice. She is compassionate, empathetic and provides a supportive environment to work through difficulties and to help her patients achieve their goals.
Dina works with a wide variety of clients including individuals, couples, families, children and seniors on relationship conflicts, career and family issues, marital discord, premarital counseling, emotional healing, enhancing self-esteem, personal growth, depression, anxiety, adjustment issues, life transitions, stress management, communication skills, anger management, coping skills, transitions, grief/bereavement, health concerns, self-care, domestic violence, children’s issues, play therapy, parenting skills, and women’s issues.
Her experience also includes working with the Ahead With Horses program, utilizing horses as therapy for severely disabled children; the Glen Roberts Child Study Center, working with children and families; and Foothill Family Service, a nonprofit agency in Pasadena. She has previously volunteered with her pet therapy dog, Justice, at the Glendale Adventist Hospital Psychiatric Institute.
Dina’s practice style is an eclectic approach, including a solution-focused/goal-orientated approach and a Cognitive-Behavioral approach combined with Insight therapy. When working with young children, play therapy techniques are utilized. Dina’s goal is to help her patients develop tools and strategies to cope with their difficulties while facilitating personal growth and emotional healing in a safe non-judgmental environment.
Her office is located in a peaceful setting with a view of serene ponds and soothing waterfalls. It is comfortable and child-friendly. The building is professional and private with handicapped access, a parking lot in front of the building, and is conveniently located near the 110 freeway in South Pasadena.
During the initial visit, you will be asked to arrive 15 minutes early to complete necessary insurance paperwork. The reason for your decision to seek therapy will be discussed including and difficulties and problems you are experiencing and relevant history.
